On Tuesday, August 12, there will be an OPEN HOUSE at SMUM to support FIRST STEP, a vital program that has assisted thousands of young students to have a great "first step" in starting the school year. It is that time of year again to collect school supplies and backpacks for the young clients of SMUM and the FIRST STEP program.
We encourage you to collect school supplies (NO red, blue/light blue folders, binders or backpacks, please) through Sunday, August 10 (put in Narthex and identify with SMUM-FIRST STEP) and then bring those collections to SMUM on August 12.
Come and join us at SMUM to drop off school supplies, tour the facility, sort school supplies, stuff backpacks, and enjoy fellowship and refreshments. This will be an open house format from 5:30-8 pm ... come whenever you can and stay as long as you can.
Please try to carpool due to limited parking at SMUM. This is a wonderful opportunity for those who have never had the opportunity to visit SMUM to see just where their generous donations are going!
(This is also an opportunity for people interested in supporting the October 6 Barnes and Noble event, which will raise money for SMUM, to sign up to be on an organizing committee.
