Worship from Home

Though we can’t be together in person, there are many ways we are still being together virtually as a community! Join us at one of these services, learning opportunities, or for prayer.

Isaiah 41:10   Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Spiritual Music

Here is a highlight from the national service for Rep. John Lewis. “Amazing Grace”, sung by Wintley Phipps. The song honoring a national hero whose tireless efforts for civil rights and social justice made him the first Black lawmaker to lie in state, was written by a former slave trader about the power to change.

Note: All Taizé services have the songs & prayers onscreen to easily follow along.

John Buenz Seminar

John Buenz and Bob Walters explored the global cultural transition called postmodernity in the June series “Living in Difficult Times”. Click here for details.

Please remember to support St. Jude’s financially at this time. Though we are not able to have in-person services, all of our regular expenses are still occurring. Click here to donate or make your regular pledge contribution.

We invite you to submit prayers for yourself, for those you love, and for the world.

A priest, lay minister, or St. Jude’s member will offer these prayers and those of others during a time of prayer and intercession each day. Please reload this page if you have another prayer request to reset the input boxes.

St. Jude’s Taizé Recorded Services

Welcome to St Jude’s Cupertino Tuesday evening Taizé service. In this time of physical distancing we are transitioning to recordings that allow you to move with us through the evening prayers. The service is about 25 minutes long and includes several chants, a psalm, a reading, a short silent reflection, intersessions and a group prayer. The music and readings are right on screen to make things easier for you to follow. The tradition of Taizé is to sing the simple songs many times, as a prayer and meditation of the heart.  For more information on the Taizé community, please visit www.taize.fr. Co-leaders are Mair Dundon and LeMel Firestone-Palerm (ukulele).
Recordings will be uploaded weekly. Please note that there are no recordings for the month of July when our leaders take a much deserved break!

Compline Prayer Service Recordings

St. Jude’s has offered a Compline prayer service for many years at different times throughout the year. Compline includes psalms and other Bible lessons, and tends to be contemplative and emphasize spiritual peace. It’s a lovely way to unwind and be calm in the midst of the busy storm of our lives and of the anxiety of these times. Our Assisting Priests Penelope Duckworth and Richard Leslie lead the short 20 minute service.
