Lectio Divina and Prayer (Thursdays at 2pm)

Lectio divination is a meditative practice to deepen our experience of God’s presence in our life: we do so by reading scripture or other selected writing, the emphasis is on listening with our hearts before responding with our spirit. Sources will include Richard Rohr’s daily mediations, Centering Prayer and Cynthia Bourgeault’s teaching. Though personal prayer requests may be shared and prayed for during our time together, lectio divina tends to lead to prayers which are quiet/silent meditation rather than vocal petition. Join the Zoom meeting here, or you can call (669) 900 6833 (it’s a local San Jose number) and use Meeting ID: 892 0185 3633 and password 121410.

The topics are wide ranging, but always interesting! The latest recording is below, or join us on Sunday at the Coffee Hour link here.

We invite you to submit prayers for yourself, for those you love, and for the world.

A priest, lay minister, or St. Jude’s member will offer these prayers and those of others during a time of prayer and intercession each day. Please reload this page if you have another prayer request to reset the input boxes.

St. Jude’s Taizé Recorded Services

Welcome to St Jude’s Cupertino Tuesday evening Taizé service. The service is about 25 minutes long and includes several chants, a psalm, a reading, a short silent reflection, intercessions and a group prayer. The music and readings are right on screen to make things easier for you to follow. The tradition of Taizé is to sing the simple songs many times, as a prayer and meditation of the heart.  For more information on the Taizé community, please visit www.taize.fr. Co-leaders are Mair Dundon and LeMel Firestone-Palerm (ukulele). Recordings will be uploaded weekly. Please note that there are no recordings for July and early August when our leaders take a much deserved break!
