Learning Opportunities

Opportunities for Learning and Growth

Growing in spirit and knowledge fulfills our mission covenant through learning to live as disciples, supporting parishioners through every age, and strengthening our community by holding courageous conversations within a safe space. Below are some opportunities at St. Jude’s to learn, share and grow, and enjoyably get to know other people at St. Jude’s at the same time.

Regularly Scheduled Opportunities

Bible Study is led by our clergy on Sundays at 5pm and delves deeper into our liturgical readings for the week, or sometimes it is lay-led for special sessions on Tuesday nights and Thursday mornings. See our announcements for more information on what’s happening right now.

New members and drop-in visitors are always welcome. Our bible studies meeet using Zoom or hybrid (on campus + Zoom), depending on the day.

Covenant Groups meet regularly for deeper personal study and relationships. The groups discuss the Bible, support one another on their spiritual journeys, pray for each other, and socialize. Meeting times vary depending on the group. Some meet via Zoom and some in person.

Our Sunday Forums are held on Sunday mornings in our sanctuary or outside (weather permitting) at Noon. The community forums highlight a wide variety of topics. Drop-in visitors are always welcome. Recordings are available!

Classes and Lecture Series

St. Jude’s 101 is a two-hour session that covers not only the history of St. Judes and why we do what we do, but also key aspects of the history of the Episcopal Church and Anglican Communion. Please contact our Rector, Rev. Aaron Klinefelter, here for more information.

The Lay Eucharistic Minister (LEM) Training series is held when a parishioner is interested in becoming a LEM. All parishioners are welcome to become a LEM if they are confirmed or received in the Episcopal Church. Our LEMs are an active and vital part of our online services.

Lay Eucharistic Visitors also have training classes and are certified. These are held when a parishioner is interested in becoming a LEV. All parishioners are welcome to become a LEV if they are confirmed or received in the Episcopal Church.

Confirmation Classes occur when parishioners of any age are interested in being confirmed.

On-your-own Opportunities

Library resources are available for lending, with books stored on shelves in the Farmhouse (Office) main room. We have recently redone our library and reorganized by topic to find just what you need more easily.

Click here for our Morning Prayer pamphlet.

Visitors can also use our Labyrinth at any time during the day.

Sermons are available online, for you to consider again on your own. Click here for our service recordings archive for this year and previous years.

More Opportunities

St. Jude’s offers plays, lecture series, special forums, and more opportunities for learning throughout the year. Our upcoming events page lets you know in detail what’s coming soon, or for shorter notice opportunities, please see our weekly announcements.
