2022 Services
Christmas & Advent 2022
We started Advent with our annual Advent Festival with wreath-making, sharing of nativity sets, and a soup lunch. During Advent we also shared a Blue Christmas Service and a special Advent Jazz Vespers, and held a forum series by Rev. Penelope Duckworth on her book, Mary: The Imagination of Her Heart. We held Christmas services in our sanctuary and livestreamed for Christmas Eve 4pm & 8pm) and Christmas Day. During the season, we gathered donations for Santa Maria Urban Ministry (with our giving tree) and heard some stories from those who work there about how St. Jude’s has impacted their work. We also participated by sharing with the community a personal Advent “Word” which is meaningful to each of us.

Christmas Services 2020
Christmas 2020 services were all held online. Each of our services has something for everyone, including a Nativity Play, carols, and special readings. We also held a Christmas Day Service which was not recorded.

Jazz Vespers

Blue Christmas
Our Blue Christmas Service with our Rector Aaron Klinefelter and St. Jude’s Stephen Ministers, was a quiet, introspective service to feel comfort during this season. Click on the picture below for the video.
St. Jude’s Day Ingathering
On Sunday, October 25, 2020 had our first drive-through St. Jude’s Day Ingathering! This ingathering was a “continuation” of the morning services. We turned in our 2021 pledge cards, participated in a food and clothing drive for Santa Maria Urban Ministries (SMUM), received communion in our cars, and picked up our new picture directories! Renewal of a Ministry and Welcoming of our new Rector
On Sunday, September 20, 2020 we officially welcomed our new Rector, Aaron Klinefelter! Here is the video of this moving and special service, including prayers from our Bishop of the Diocese of El Camino Real, Bishop Lucinda Ashby, and a special sermon from the Rev. Peter Matthews, Pastor of McKinley UMC in Ohio.
